This blush brush is still one of my favorite tools. I used it this morning for a wash of bronzer. Then, before she could catch it, I quickly hid it from Rosie-Pose. I
I’ll totally get these purple lids in a second (because purple), but first, can we? please Talk about the latest mystery to be revealed at this end of the keyboard—a mystery also known as “The Haunting of Casa MBB”?
Don’t worry, nothing terrible is going on (I’m not sprinkling buckets of holy water on things left and right, in case you’re wondering!).
My favorite for the past few weeks. has been gently “haunted” by Chanel Blush Brush, which has disappeared and is reappearing in the most random places throughout the house. I’ve found it on my bed, in the hallway, in the middle of the stairs, on the kitchen floor.
Last week I found it smack dab in the middle of the living room, just sitting on the carpet right in front of the sofa.
I just assumed that Connor had grabbed it and played with it and forgot to put it back on, but when I asked him about it later he said, “No, mom, I have my brushes. ” (Hahaha! She totally does!)
Now, this brush is one of my favorite blush brushes because it is so soft, and the brush head fits snugly above the apples of my cheeks and under the hollows of my cheeks, so I can use it for blush Am And The bronzer bristles are also perfectly crookedSo it blends like a dream.
I thought, if some otherworldly being/spirit is getting obsessed with this, I totally understand.
But it didn’t end because of the makeup brush-loving ghost. The disappearance was actually due to a cat.
Yes! Look, the one I just found doing “hunter’s weed” outside my office. Whenever Rosie Posey chases and hunts one of her soft toy balls and wants to show off her booty wealth, there’s this cute growl / murmur.
I went into the hallway after catching his prey to examine him and give him general attention (“Oh, good job, Rosie-pos! You’re such a good mouser. Look how well you chased your toy!” ), and then I caught him red-handed (red-clawed?) in his mouth with my Chanel brush.
I think from this point forward, this brush will have a special hiding place…inside a drawer!
(Quick update: Later in the day, I even caught her pulling out her NARS blush brush, so she’s expanding her hunting horizons.)
Jewel-toned purple lids
Okay, so let’s talk purple lids. Now, this might sound a little familiar to you because I’m doing variations of this look using the same neutral colors in the crease, inner corners, and lash lines, but with different jewel tones on the lids. First green, then blue and now purple!
find your origin
This totally wearable look depends on finding a core set of matte brown and beige eyeshadows for your crease colors. Once you find the ones you like, you can simply put them on standby, and then quickly swap out the jewel tones on your lids with other colors to create different looks!
I am using the same set of warm brown and beige in this series…
For purples, I’m wearing a shimmery purple called Gilt Trip, a deep purple called Drift (both from the Urban Decay Born to Run palette) and a dark purple UD pencil called Empire.
The foundation, powder blush/bronzer and lipstick are the same products I’ve recently used in the 10-minute makeup look in This Cosmetics Foundation review (which I’m wearing in this picture as well).
As you can see, I’m really excited about this look, and I’m excited to be wearing makeup again! I
