Latest upside down haul, and hello Thursday!

Good Thursday, my friend. How’s it going? You know what I discovered over the past few weeks? If you want someone to talk about blinds vs roller shades vs curtains for 45 minutes, I’m your girl.

Did I really make a slideshow about curtains? you betcha.

No one ever told me that being an adult would involve bothering with cords on blinds or thinking about various roller shade mounting techniques at 3 a.m.!

Anyway, hello to a house full of roller-sheds sooner than I expected, lol! I must tell myself that it will be terminated soon, otherwise I may lose my mind very soon.

On a beauty note, I went upside down last week because 1) I needed a moment to myself, and 2) I was running low on staples.

Why is it that whenever you run out of basic things like toothpaste or lotion or razors, it all happens at the same time? this is madness.

Back to the opposite. I used a body lotion (the good ol’ CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, with a pump, of course), a Hask Repairing Deep Conditioner Hair Mask (my mane needs some serious TLC), an OPI gel polish in the shade Half Past Nude ( It’s a pale a) hot pink that’s a little darker than a bubble bath), and because Connor was with me, I bought her a bottle of orange nail polish from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line.

A matching mom and I manicure!

If you have a little girl who loves to paint her nails, Insta-Dris are the best! It only takes 10 minutes for your nails to freeze completely. This is the only nail polish for which it will stay stable.

The last thing I bought was another bottle of Avne Solaire UV Mineral Sunscreen. I wore it to the pumpkin patch last weekend and even though I was in the sun all day – and without a hat, my bad! – I didn’t pick up any color. I hope Avene* never discontinues this sunscreen because it’s the last two years I’ve tried, and girl, I’ve tried a ton, it’s my favorite face sunscreen. Try it if you haven’t already!

Life on this end has been good but busy. When I’m not juggling my family calendar or locking Connor to a play or dance class, I’m balancing things like life, work, and all. you know how it is. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to manage all this, and I was wondering what systems do you use to keep track?

We have a central family calendar that I and L Hub share. I just recently started using the Reminders feature on my phone, and it really helps a lot because I don’t feel like I have to carry that much around in my head. Anyway, I’d love to hear what you use to keep your life and your family’s life in order.
