Well, I guess it is a good thing that I am wearing waterproof mascara today.
My fave at the moment is an oldie but goodie—MAC in Extreme Dimension Waterproof Lash.
Whatever the case, I dropped my little one off for the first day of my first class today. She was feeling a little nervous, so we focused on getting her to a good place in the morning.
I have always believed that if you are worried about something, it really helps to prepare as much as you can and go about your business with a light and happy mind.
Visualize what your day will be like, mentally run through your schedule, estimate what you can do (e.g., by getting your clothes ready and setting up your lunch the day before), think of anything that makes you feel comfortable. Surprisingly, start your day early so you don’t rush – stuff like that.
So, we talked about it all while we did her school morning routine, and then we were on the go!
I didn’t really get a chance to feel any of the older mom’s feelings until I dropped her in her class; Emotions hit me when she almost forgot to turn around and say goodbye to me. (I’m told this is a good thing.)
The passing of time is cruel! One day they are glued to you at the preschool drop off. Then, it’s the first day of first grade. Next thing you know, it’s the first day of college.
I didn’t expect tears to come today, but dang, this squishy heart! I get it every time.
By the way, good Thursday. How are things going on your end? good I hope.
