What are your biggest summer beauty concerns?

Hey friend Before getting into today’s beauty Q&A, I just wanted to say Happy Friday and TGIF. I kept quiet because I have had to feel some emotions. The world is a scary place, and the MBB is usually my safe haven, so when I sit at my keyboard in the morning, I try to warm up to it. Some days are a lot harder than others, though, especially when I realize how fragile everything seems to be when I was a kid.

I hope that wherever you are today, you and your family are feeling stable, loved and safe. It seems that those things are not guaranteed for any of us, so any day you have them in your life is a gift.

Deep breath. I think I’m ready for a light-hearted conversation about beauty; How are you? I need a momentary distraction.

As you know, summer is about to come. We got a preview a few days ago with temperatures in the 90s in the Bay Area. I’m not prepared to be covered in sweat every time I leave the house, uh.

No, this is not my pool. Alas, LOL!

At least summer is a dry summer, though! It does make a difference. Humidity definitely takes the challenge to the next level.

So, some summer beauty concerns…

  • Melting makeup in summer! Although I don’t wear as much as I used to, I don’t appreciate having to smear my liner everywhere.
  • Hair challenges. I’m a little self-conscious about spots on my hairline that have subsided a bit, so I’m trying to figure out how to hide them and still keep my hair off my neck. Instead of doing high buns and ponytails, I’ve been doing more low buns and French twists lately because I can swoon the front piece over those spots.
  • Sweat like a mofo. Oh my god, so hot, so sweaty, all the time! The worst places for me are my armpits (they’ve been on the next level lately), behind my knees, and between my thighs.
  • Living with sun protection. I’m trying to be diligent in protecting my skin from the sun! I’ve been reapplying sunscreen forever, it seems.
